About Action Booklets™
What is Action Booklets™?
Action Booklets™ is an online activity-based engagement, learning and support platform powered by the Action Method™. It provides ready-to-use interactive activities that help people take part meaningfully, practise real-world skills, build confidence and independence, and show their progress. It isn’t a collection of worksheets or an online course library.
Is there a training pathway for the Action Method™?
The Action Method™ is currently being developed into a proposed nationally recognised training pathway called “Facilitating Engagement Using the Action Method™”, made up of three units of competency.
Suitability
Who are Action Booklets™ designed for, and will they suit different abilities?
Action Booklets™ are built to support a wide range of abilities, not just one learner profile. They’re commonly used by NDIS participants, support workers and providers, employment services and their participants, homeschool and alternative education families, youth programs, supported independent living settings and community services.
With three levels, activities can be completed with support, guided by a worker or educator, or completed independently.
How do I know which level to choose?
Levels follow goals, interests and how someone likes to learn. They aren’t set by diagnosis or support needs. Explore all three levels or take the free quiz for personalised guidance. Employment services and their participants are directed to Level 3.
Can we use it for several participants?
Yes. Organisations can use different levels for different participants. Register, explore the portal and choose your access directly, or send an organisation enquiry if you’d like help planning.
Is Action Booklets™ suitable for different abilities and support needs?
Yes. Action Booklets™ are designed to adapt to the individual, not the other way around. Participants can engage at their own pace, with a support worker, carer or educator, or independently.
Time & pace
How long does each booklet take?
Approximately 10 weeks per booklet, based on our recommended schedule of two sessions per week, approximately 30–45 minutes each. This is a planning guide, not a deadline.
How long does it take to complete a whole level?
If all booklets are completed one after another: Level 1 (8 booklets) approximately 18 months, Level 2 (8 booklets) approximately 18 months, and Level 3 (5 booklets) approximately 12 months. These are planning guides, not deadlines.
Do participants have to finish every booklet, in order, by a set time?
No. The timeframes are planning guides only. Participants can progress at their own pace, complete selected booklets, or work on more than one booklet at the same time.
Accessibility & using the portal
Is the portal easy to use?
The portal has been designed to remove complexity, with a clean, intuitive interface that’s easy for participants and supporters to get started with, whatever their confidence with technology. Completing activities, uploading evidence, tracking progress and accessing certificates all happen in one place.
Can a support person be involved?
Yes. Participants and their support people both have access. Supporters guide the journey while participants stay at the centre.
Where can activities be done?
Anywhere that suits: at home, in the community, during recreational activities, one-to-one, in small groups, and at your own pace.
Pricing & funding
How much does it cost?
Your pricing is shown as you sign up in the portal, so you can see the current figures for your level. See how access works, or ask us a pricing question if you’d like to talk it through first.
Can I use my NDIS funding?
Action Booklets™ is designed to support Capacity Building through non-face-to-face community, social and recreational participation. Whether it suits your plan depends on your individual circumstances and the NDIS rules that apply, and we can’t guarantee funding or reimbursement. We recommend discussing your goals with your support team or plan manager. If you have questions about invoicing, we’re happy to help.
Getting started
How do I get started?
Choose your level, create your account in the portal, explore the available booklets and purchase the access you choose. You don’t need to take the quiz or speak with us first.
Do I have to take the quiz?
No. The quiz is optional and gives personalised guidance. You can explore the levels without it.
Evidence & outcomes
Can Action Booklets™ be used for NDIS evidence, reporting or outcomes?
Action Booklets™ are built with evidence and outcomes in mind. Each booklet supports documented participation and engagement, goal-linked activities, progress tracking over time, and digital records suitable for reporting and reviews.
What about Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?
As participants complete activities they build a portfolio of evidence. Where appropriate, this evidence may contribute towards RPL with a registered training organisation. This depends on the organisation and the units involved.
Evidence from completed Action Booklets™ activities may support employment service providers in documenting approved vocational and non-vocational interventions, addressing participant barriers and demonstrating progress towards relevant Progress Payment requirements.
