About the Action Method™

Learning through action, not passive instruction

The Action Method™ powers every Action Booklets™ module. Participants build knowledge, confidence and practical skills by taking part in meaningful, real-world activities.

Participant-led, supporter-guided

Learning is designed to follow natural thinking patterns. Participants explore, create, problem-solve, practise, reflect and apply what they’ve learned. Supporters guide the journey, while participants remain at the centre.

Activity that becomes evidence

As participants complete social, community, educational and recreational activities, they don’t just finish tasks. They demonstrate new capabilities. Every completed activity, reflection, uploaded photo and practical project contributes to a growing body of evidence of participation, choice and control, progress and increased independence.

At your own pace

Delivered through an accessible online platform, Action Booklets™ lets participants learn flexibly while building autonomy, responsibility and goal-attainment.

What it is

The Action Method™ is Action Booklets’ own activity-based approach.

Training pathway. The Action Method™ is currently being developed into a proposed nationally recognised training pathway called “Facilitating Engagement Using the Action Method™”, made up of three units of competency.

Curriculum & training alignment

Action Booklets™ is informed by the Australian Curriculum and nationally recognised training frameworks, so participants engage with relevant, meaningful and accountable content. The aim isn’t to replicate a classroom: participation is the priority, and learning is the vehicle.

Where appropriate, evidence may support learning progression, reporting and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) with a registered training organisation.

Evidence from completed Action Booklets™ activities may support employment service providers in documenting approved vocational and non-vocational interventions, addressing participant barriers and demonstrating progress towards relevant Progress Payment requirements.

Our mission

Accessibility is about more than access. It’s about opportunity.

We’re redefining how people engage, learn and develop practical life skills: participation that’s more meaningful, support that’s more engaging, and real-world confidence built through action.
